Small doubt for registering a domain name :-?
Hi everyone,
I was planning to buy a webspace with my name in it.
I went to the website register.com and its available for some 35 $.
Since I am doing this for the first time Please clarify some of my doubts :-
1.) Can i make an arrangement wherein i redirect the visitors to that location to another 3rd party website (which has some php etc etc) ?
2.)Does it mean that , I purchased the domain name for a lifetime? In the sense do I need to submit some annual fees or something for the domain name ?
3.)Is register.com the only method to register a domain name ? If not what other options do I have ? And how should I decide how to buy a domain name ? Given that I am in India.
4.)For hosting a personal webspace for myself (With dynamic support), what is the best option ?? And where can i get info on that ?

1.) You can make your domain redirect anywhere you’d like. Or you could buy a plan that you can create your website on like mine; celestial-nocturne.net. I don’t have it redirecting anywhere, my entire website is on the ‘domain’.
2.) Nope. It’s $35/year if you use register.com but I would highly recommend someone else! You can find them MUUUUCH cheaper!!
3.) NO NO NO. You can use godaddy.com for 8.99/year or fodyhost.com (Who I use <3) for 9.99/year PLUS they offer cheap web hosting too so you can park your domain AND host it!
4.) Again, my site celestial-nocturne.net is my own personal site, and I host through fodyhost.com. Their support is also wonderful.
