which hosting is the best for my site, windows, linux or hybrid?

I am going to launch a website in which i store data of all shops of my locality. I am confuse about windows, linux or hybrid hosting?? My friend told me that windows hosting will work only on windows OS, Linux hosting will work only on Linux operating system. Whereas the hybrid hosting will work any OS, whether it is windows, linux or mac. Is this True???
I need a host with unlimited space, unlimited domain, email IDs. Which is the best co. in New Delhi, India which provide me Windows, Linnux or specially hybrid hosting?
How much I have to pay for the same??
Please help me in this regard.

Unlimited space and unlimited domains don’t exist. Period. You need to narrow down your requirements to things that are obtainable. Since your requirements are very open at the moment I would suggest finding a local consultant because sorting all this out is going to take a reasonable amount of time; more than you can reasonably expect people to do for free on forums such as this. The choice of operating system is by and large a minor consideration – once you are beginning to select specific tools they may dictate one or the other but in any eventuality it shouldn’t be the very first thing you consider, since you are then restricting yourself at the outset.
